.22.

So, it finally arrived. I was actually anticipating it secretly. With great age comes greater wisdom they say. But I'd beg to differ. I still feel the same la. Anyhoos, it was pretty quiet this year, given the over the top celebration last year. the highlight was the fact that I had cupcakes instead of a birthday cake. I actually preferred that. Too much sugar might make one end up in a diabetic coma. =p

It was pretty cool that I had Sha around for the day before she bites the dust. Mum made me wear a really beautiful saree to church. I felt so Indian. You know, with the whole birthday+saree thing. The only thing missing was me walking around with a box of Indian sweets proclaiming to the world that it was my birthday. Yes, I know I share the same birthday as India but the whole saree thing was a little absurd but I had fun trying to walk around and especially trying my best not to trip over!

One amazing surprise was Aunt's awesome blossom luncheon spread. Oh baby, it was a mind blowing, gastronomical feast. I'm beginning to feel a strange gut feeling that my birthday this year was themed around food.

Dinner that night was quaint and much to my liking. Ah, food again. It was at Finnegan's, the good ol' Irish pub in Hartamas Square. Being the hero that I am, I decided to order some funky all day breakfast thing. It was pretty cool albeit for the fact that I did find it quite hillarious to be eating baked beans, bacon, toast and bangers at 8 p.m.! Rofl. I expected REAL cranberry juice but was greeted with the artificial, out of the carton can. Who cares? I downed it anyway.

The night ended with me going to bed with a smile on my face. No party, regardless of how big and lavish can beat the feeling of being loved by the people who matter most to you.
